Villkiss Awakens (ヴイルキス覚醒 Vuirukisu kakusei?) is the third episode of CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon, it first aired in Japan on October 18, 2014.
Synopsis[]
Angelise's escape attempt during her first battle with the First Squadron against the DRAGONs has unforeseen consequences. However, her destiny is revealed when she is assigned to pilot the Para-mail, AW-CBX007 (AG) Villkiss [1].
Plot[]
Act One
Despite Coco's death, Ange remains adamant about defecting from the unit when Salia holds her at gunpoint. However, a DRAGONs brigade consisting of 22 Schooners and a Galleon-type appears. The squadron switches the Para-mails into assault mode and attacks the horde. As Miranda grieves the loss of Coco, the Schooners devour her, terrifying Ange even more. As Zola is about to deliver the killing blow on the Galleon-type DRAGON, Ange bumps against her, and the Galleon-type destroys them both. Ange survives the crash, but Zola is dead.
At the infirmary, Zola's unit blames the injured Ange for Zola's death. Jill assigns Salia and Hilda as the Captain and the Lieutenant, respectively. Jill also informs Ange that her request to return home is declined, and her family is gone.
Act Two
As a punishment, Jill tells Ange to carry the tombstones of the fallen comrades to the cemetery. Ange becomes emotionally unstable and wants to die.
As a solution to Ange's despair and due to the lack of Para-mail units, Jill assigns Ange to pilot a unique Para-mail that other pilots consider ancient. The unit heads out and hunts their previous enemy, but the Galleon-type DRAGON chases and attacks Ange. Though suicidal at first, she recalls her dying mother's wish for her to live strong. Ange awakens Villkiss' assault mode and destroys the Galleon-type.
At the Arzenal cemetery, Ange reminisces about her family. She renounces her former life as Princess Angelise by cutting her hair, vowing to do whatever it takes to survive.
Before the credits, Ange eats the pudding Coco offered her earlier, which was already spoiled.

Jasmine: Of course it's outrageous. Coco had just turned twelve, dammit. Ange: Twelve... the same age as Sylvia. No. She's not the same as Sylvia. Because- Jill: Norma aren't human...huh. Then what are you? You're not a princess. You have no Mana. You abandoned your duty. You're deserter. You killed a little girl. Just what are you? Ange: I am- I am- Jill: Get up, Ange.
